The guesthouse Tyrol has respected certain basic principles since its opening.
Whenever possible, we give preference to the regional products from our local producers. All commodities are bought from carefully selected producers.

Food and Daily Necessities

• "fresh" daily from the neighbouring farmyard of Klausenhof: milk, cream, yoghourt.
• cheese, curds and further milk products come from the surrounding alpine dairies. From alpine dairies in Rotholz, Mayrhofen, Kolsass, as well as many more.
• the entire supply of vegetables, salads and fruit comes from the regional farmers "Thaur" near Innsbruck. As does a proportion of our meat products.
• the remainder of the foodstuff and daily products that we use comes from Tyrol. For example, soap/cleaning agents "Walde" Innsbruck, rice/pasta "Recheis" Innsbruck, and flour "Rauch" Innsbruck. etc.
• our building is also equipped in the same environmentally and energy-friendly manner

Energy & Mobility

• Wilfried Strauss and five other similarly-minded people were pioneers when it came to "biomass heating". With nothing to compare it with and no experience, they developed the first "wood chips and bark heating systems" together with engineers and technicians. After much planning, measuring and experimenting, they were able to develop an environmentally-friendly heating system.
• The House Tyrol has had an environmentally-friendly "bark heating system" for 22 years now. Thanks to its sophisticated technology and combustion, combined with an excellent filter system, it is only pure steam that leaves the chimney.
• The building is well insulated with good windows and doors reducing the energy consumption further.
• We use environmentally-friendly, natural gas to prepare our meals in the kitchen.
• We have also been supporting a car-free Pertisau for many years. The first E-Cars were bought for this very purpose 16 years ago.
• These low-noise, smokeless and environmentally-friendly vehicles have been well used and accepted from the very first day and will continue to be so in the future.
