Our history

• The foundation stone of our present-day family business was laid by our great-grandfather in 1903.
• After this, the house was managed in its second generation by Mrs Paula Strauß. She performed this with physical devotion and, more than anything else, with her great love of work and towards her guests.

Since our beginnings, we have continually made every effort to provide our guests with pleasant and friendly surroundings so that they may enjoy a relaxed and pleasant holiday.

• The first extensive alterations were undertaken in the third generation by Wilfried Straus in 1976. An "a la carte restaurant" arose and the first Deluxe rooms were furnished.
• The largest and quickest alteration and expansion so far, occurred in 1988 following continual improvements. From the "Pension Tyrol", which at that time was still quite small, the spectacular and proud "Gasthof Tyrol" arose.
• The results were five floors with large, spacious and contemporary rooms. The building period lasted a mere six weeks, during this time many innovations in style, perfection, craftsmanship and implementation of ideas took place. The Tyrolean Swiss Pine Room has been available to guests since autumn 2008.
• The dining room was furnished in typical Tyrolean style in summer 2009. It is an inviting retreat where one can spend the whole day reading or playing games and is always a firm favourite for a pleasant chat over a glass of wine.

With our guesthouse - Hotel Tyrol – which is now in its fourth generation, we are delighted to be able to offer you a relaxed and enjoyable holiday in a friendly setting and with the romantic atmosphere so typical of the passion of Tyrol.
