Holiday in Pertisau on the Lake Achensee

The largest lake in Tyrol, situated almost 1,000 m above sea level, is surrounded by the mountains of the Karwendel nature park and the Rofan. It is impossible to find another holiday region with such variety in the Tyrolean mountains!

Summer

• hiking and mountain climbing,
• mountain biking and rock climbing,
• excursions on foot, by bicycle, motorbike, small rowing boat or with the steamer and the Lake Achensee train ... there are numerous options all around Pertisau and Lake Achensee to enjoy a wonderful holiday.
• the oldest golf course in Tyrol can be found in Pertisau which has now been extended into a modern 18 hole course.
   

Winter

• The paths through the Karwendel valleys are cleared in winter, and are an open invitation for long winter walks – many of the Almhütten (alpine huts) are still open during the cold winter months.
• The huts can also be reached by cross-country skiing or with a horse-drawn sledge.
• There are 200 km of cross-country tracks surrounding Lake Achensee – both classical and with skating tracks.
• In Pertisau and Maurach small ski areas can be found for the whole family – without having to wait long.
• In Achenkirch, the Christlum provides skiers and snowboards with pistes for every level of difficulty.
• Tobogganing and ice skating are also firm winter favourites.
